EU on FRX reports they receive: Source: FSMAS9065 Error 8900: A DirectLink error has occurred while populating temporary account table They state that they can login to FRX, they can begin running the report (some lengthy) however at a certain point this error appears. I'm thinking either rights or AV/Malware is somehow interfering wth read/write of a temp table. Usually, with an 8900 I find that FRx doesn't work. This one is a bit different in that FRx does in fact work to a certain point. EU reports that their IT department installed some type of AV or security update on Friday..

Look at the Optional Work Drive in Admin/Processing Options - see if folder exits and if they have permissions to it. Turn off AV and see if it works then.

Good thinking. Unfortunately with today's AV it seems like IT is generally clueless about how to exclude folders. I'm still thinking this is AV or Malware related.

I think this is my first ""you're at the end of the line"" with FRx.

EU i a medical practice that has installed some encryption software - unsure if that's the ultimate cause.

Does it work if AV is turned off - either on gui side or in services or task manager?

They claim that they have turned it off , excluded, etc. Personally I have doubts that most IT know how to do that or that it's as east to do as it should be. They may try using a different workstation with no encryption. A word of caution on FRX - this ""try this, try that"" can easily eat up a whole day without producing the results you want.

We knew this day would come! We have one FRx whisperer on staff and if we didn't, I'd have thrown in the towel already for most customers by now.

Have you checked the 'output' location? Sometimes FRx doesn't like a redirected output location and I will type in one and then it will work.

My jotted down notes about the client install. I'm sure you ran PVXCOM, but for others....! If you get a message about Login Failed for XXX company and the info button mentions PVXCOM, go to MAS's Home folder and run PVXCOM.exe. If it doesn't reference PVXCOM, check the driver that it's using under Company Information. If PVXCOM doesn't run, run the C++ redist 2008 install.

Nancy's suggestion on the Optional Work drive in the Admin/Processing options seems to have gotten us the closest. I created a folder tmp inside FRX folder and pointed the system to that folder. It sped up the processing and so far has allowed the reports to print without issue. I strongly suspect there could still be some type of AV that was impacting the other storage location

Still having issues with another user when we try to switch back to her desktop. This almost certainly is an environmental/permissions issue since I'm able to get FRX running on another users desktop.

local installs or client? if client, did the temp folder change for everyone and now everyone needs to have access to that temp folder?
