  • 1.  Error uninstalling enhancements at 3.71

    Hi there

    Doing an upgrade from 3.71 to 4.50 (and then to 2020).    At first the program did not like BOM and WO were not installed at 4.50 (and were at 3.71) and we got through that.

    Now there are two enhancements that the migration will not let me get through.

    Any time i try to uninstall at "uninstall modules", the program acts like it is processing, and i go back to uninstall modules, and the two modules are there (the enhancements).

    Any ideas?

    Doug, On the 3.71 system. you can try using DFDM on Sy0ctl.soa and SY_Enhancements.M4T and delete the Extended Solution records.  In Sy0ctl.soa, Scroll towards the bottom of the file and delete the (lower case) 'l'evel records for the two Extended Solutions.  I would also look at the last record in the file for (pipe symbol) '|' records.  These records were use by Legacy Extended Solutions and are not used in Business Framework.  I would delete them as well.  The Extended Solution Records are easy to locate and delete.  Then the Migration won't know the Enhancements exist.  Be sure to make a copy of both files first.

    Just went through this, as long as the 3.71 passes the GLWURA utility. Grab a plain vanilla version of your own 4.5 install, set the modules to match the 3.71 installation. Create company code to match the 3.71 version. From 3.71 create a MAS_xxx folder with the company data in it and park it in your 4.5. Going to company maintenance, it should pop up with the 3.71 level and you can convert from there. That should bypass your enhancements issue.
