Hey Amy,
Just prior to installing these prerequisites it should have popped up a list of the prerequisites it will need to install.
I would do the following:
1. Try to manually install those prereqs from the .\Prerequisites folder of the original installation files (we're assuming here the ones in the WKSetup folder are busted).
2. If that doesn't work, download those prereqs from Microsoft and install them from there.
3. If those don't work I would present the list to their IT person and ask him/her to install them and let you know when they are done.
If there is a problem with the PC that won't allow one or more of them to install then the IT person should find that out and correct it.
