Error installing Crystal 2011 on Windows 2008 R2 64-bit server. There was a post on this on Sage City. Someone reported success disabling anti-virus. Didn't work for me. Anyone run into this and get past it? Ran from autorun (as administrator).

When you said ran Autorun as Administrator do you mean rt-click / Run as Administrator or just logged in as Administrator? This error is discussed a bit in the SAP forums. It appears you should look for a SetupExe.log that may tell you the problem. On this thread the log is indicating the installer can't copy a specific file from the temp folder to the destination folder. No resolution but prolly a permissions issue - http://scn.sap.com/thread/1955760 You could verify it's permissions by running Process Monitor (aka ProcMon) utility. Start the trace during the CR install and stop it when the error occurs. Then check the trace log for ACCESS DENIED errors - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645

Try running it from Sage 100 autorun.exe (drill down to Productivity Tools) instead of directly from the setup.exe. Don't know why or if just coincidence, but that works for me when I've experienced that error.

@AlnoorCassim Yes to both - logged in as admin and r.click / run as admin. @BillPfahnl - did run from the autorun. Thanks to both of you. I sic'd IT on it, and they got it done. They reported back that the failed install folder needed to be deleted first. So I suspect that turning off AV would have worked if that had been done.

I had issues with Crystal 2011 on two different Windows 2008 R2 64 bit servers. Logged in as Administrator, rt click and run as administrator, turned off AV, and none of them helped. In both cases changing the install path from the default c:\sage\crystal............ to something else (c:\sagecrystal\crystal........) took care of it. No idea why but it worked in both instances.
