Error emailing or creating PDF documents in Sage after windows updates are installed. I have had 3 calls this week where users are getting a message ""cannot open lockfile"" when trying to email or create paperless office PDF's. In all 3 cases windows updates were installed on the workstation the previous evening. Also in all 3 cases I looked in REGEDIT and the Sage PDF converter was gone (removed by windows updates I assume). I think the Sage PDF converter was still In Devices and Printers (although I have not actually looked there). To correct the problem You just need to reinstall the PDF converter on the workstation to correct the problem. I used file>Run> PL_AdvancedOptions_UI and that has cleared up the issue. just wondering if anyone else has run into it or alerting to what may be causing it.

Yes, we have received lots of those calls. We do the same as you to correct. I found this in a Sage knowledgebase post: Note: If printing to Paperless Office PDF was previously working on the workstation, but suddenly stopped, it is likely the problem occurred after Microsoft Windows Updates were installed. Some Sage 100 users on Windows 10 workstations (even those on the most currently supported versions) have reported that sometimes a Microsoft Windows Update will delete registry entries and programs. We have found that Sage 100 PDF Converter registry entries disappear or become affected, requiring reinstallation and verification that the registry entries are replaced by reinstallation. ?Caution: Sage is not responsible for the content of third-party web sites. We've been adding permissions on the registry key (HKCC\Software\)and running workstation setup / repair... which fixes things up nicely.

I change the local port on the PDF Converter driver to ""Sage"". The default seems to be null or Ltp1. That seems to solve a lot of issues too.

Also have used ""Run as administrator"" to launch Sage for some Paperless functions after the W10 update
