I have a client on Sage 100 Advanced v2021 with a custom report that is giving this error 88 when running from the Sage Custom Reports menu but it runs fine directly from Crystal. This happens for multiple users. I found a similar write up from Sage pointing to the Sy_reportsetting.m4t table but that didn't seem to be the issue. Other reports run fine from Sage.

    I have tried the following:

    1. Deleted report from menu and added it back with a different name.
    2. In Crystal, cleared any 'old' datasource paths from the report.
    3. In Crystal, refreshed the datasource connection.
    4. In Windows, changed the default printer.
    5. I did NOT reinstall the workstation since this is happening for multiple users and other reports are fine, I didn't think it applied.

Any ideas before I get Sage involved and/or recreate the report?

    Thanks!

This sounds very familiar. Do you have any parameters in the report I have a recollection of something about numeric or string parameters causing reports to fail when running them from the Sage menu,  but working when running from Crystal.  It was around the "2021" time frame I think. I'm trying to find documentation, but my searches are coming up short since I can't figure out what to search on.

Maybe another 90 minds-er will have better recollection, but I'll keep looking.

You said you changed the default Windows printer - is that the printer they're printing to?  What happens if you preview?

There was a parameter but it was a string, that error @David Overholt was thinking of relates to numeric parameters.  I removed all parameters and selection criteria and still had the error whether I printed or previewed.

I ended up recreating the report, added it to the menu and it works.  There must have been corruption somewhere.  Luckily it was a crosstab, so didn't take much to redo it.

    Thanks for the suggestions!

    Dawn,

Even though it didn't solve your problem, I'm glad you found that parameter thing. I never did find documentation on that.
