    FYI - Sage 100 2022 upgrading to 2023

    1. Customer IT department installed Sage 100 2023 Standard workstation ( 32-bit though I don't think 32 vs 64 was the issue)
    2. Then IT uninstalled Sage 100 2022 Standard workstation
    3. User tries to print in Sage 100 2023 Standard
    4. This appeared to cause Error 200 SY_ReportCommon.PVC   Line 705 when trying to print from Sage 100 2023
    5. I tried to just uninstall Sage 100 2023 Workstation and reinstall and that didn't appear to resolve it
    6. To fix the Error 200 - I had to first uninstall the crystal runtimes ( both 32 and 64 ) through add/remove programs and then uninstall Sage 100 2023 workstation and reinstall Sage 100 2023

There may be a faster/different way to resolve this so the above is just an FYI in case you suddenly run into the same thing that I did today

Update: I didn't do the initial workstation setup so I can't vouch for exactly what IT did ( ie - did they run everything as administrator as instructed? ) so this is unconfirmed in case anyone runs across the same error.

I've run into a case of having to uninstall both those Crystals and reinstall the workstation, as well, but I can't remember if that was the same error, although I'm thinking it was because it was so generic.  Guess it wasn't a fluke, then.

@Beth Bowers Was that on an upgrade to 2023 or does it sound like this could apply to other version upgrades?

    It was a 2023.  Probably 64-bit.

Any upgrade to v2023, I have SOP'd uninstall the Crystal Runtimes BEFORE i install the 2023 workstation client.  I don't encounter this issue if I uninstall them first.

Try to "repair" the CR runtimes from the Windows Programs and Features dialog.  That helps us with a couple issues.

Some of these manual steps make the workstation installation cumbersome. Especially if it has to be done on all local workstations ( as opposed to Terminal Server ).

I also don't remember running into this issue prior to 2023. Typically in prior versions re-installing the latest release of Sage 100 would patch up the Crystal Runtime versions as well.

I encountered a Crystal debacle last night re: v2023 but was able to resolve.  I haven't yet reinstalled v2023 wkstn setup but will post if I have further issues:

    • Upgrade - 4.05(v2017) Adv to v2023 Adv, incl server migration
    • Both v2017 and v2023 workstation setups already performed, and I had already installed Crystal 2020
    • Errors in v2017:  p/r not on file / :crystal / cast com
    • I was eventually able to resolve, and I think these were essentially the steps I performed:
      1. uninstalled v2023 wkstn setup
      2. uninstalled crystal runtimes
      3. uninstalled v2017 wkstn setup
      4. installed crystal patch 22 exe
      5. reinstall v2017 wkstn setup
      6. copy in v2018 pvxwin file to local c-drive folder (it's already in main folder on server).

The farther we get away from v2017, the less likely we remember to copy the pvxwin32.exe.config back to v2017.....

I ran across this again with a Sage 100 Standard v2020 to v2023 upgrade.

I've memorialized the exact cause and resolution for this customer:

    Error 200 SY_ReportCommon.PVC 705 in Sage 100 2023 After Installing Crystal Reports 2020

Created: Mar 6, 2024 By: Wayne Schulz

    Issue:

After upgrading a customer from Sage 100 Standard 2020 ( which used Crystal Report 2016 ) to Sage 100 Standard 2023.2, the following occurred:

    • A power user had the complete Crystal Reports 2016, which they used to edit/create Sage forms/reports

    • This user upgraded to Sage 100 Standard 2023.2 without uninstalling and reinstalling the latest Crystal Reports 2020 ( for Sage 100 2023.2 ).

    • A day or two after going live, we logged in and uninstalled ( add/remove ) the Crystal Reports 2016 from the local computer.

    • We installed Crystal Reports 2020 on the local computer

    • The next day, when the user went to run a report or update a register, they received

      • Error 200 SY_ReportCommon.PVC 705

        • This issue was isolated to the user where we uninstalled the full Crystal Reports 2016 and installed the full Crystal Reports 2020

    Resolution:

    1. Login and uninstall both 32 and 64-bit Crystal Runtimes through add/remove programs

    2. This user was on 32-bit Sage 100 so I only installed 32-bit Crystal Runtime located in folder ..\MAS90\wksetup\Prerequisites\CrystalRuntime

    3. Printing and register updating returned to normal with no errors
