Error 2 when printing GL Chart of Accounts in PREMIUM

  • 1.  Error 2 when printing GL Chart of Accounts in PREMIUM

    Client is getting error 2 on GL_AccountSegment file (EOF) only in one company.  They do not use segments, so file is empty.  TST company runs fine.
    The only solutions I can find on the KB involve rebuilding Key files, but client is on SQL, so no go.  I tried adding a record and then deleting it in DFDM and that didn't make any difference.  Other GL reports are printing OK.

    Any thoughts?

    I had this exact issue with a client running the GL detail report. They also did not have any segments.

     

    Luckily he sent me a screen shot of the report settings screen. I noticed that the description said "Budget" like he was using a custom report  setting, but no custom report settings existed.  I had him type in the default description "General Ledger Detail Report" in as the description and that fixed the problem. I have NO CLUE why that happened or why that fixed it.

     

    Try having the user create a custom report setting maybe.

    @David Overholt - OMG, that was it.  They actually had a BLANK description and I just typed in "Standard Description" and saved it and that worked.  I had tried a CUSTOM version but when the CUSTOM was created, it, too, had a blank description, so it errored out as well.  I never even noticed.

    That confirms what I saw - it was so bizarre that I wasn't really sure if that was it.  why would the description matter??

    Hm - was your client Premium?  I just tested on my 2020.1 version and it didn't happen.

    No they are on advanced. And I think they are on version 2021.  But this is one of my clients that we can't just log into without contacting them.

    OK, so it doesn't seem to have any consistency, but at least if we see that error again, this MIGHT help!  LOL Better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick, I guess.

    Beth – just an update.

     

    I had an opportunity to log into this client today and they are on Sage 100 Advanced version 2020 PU2.  So perhaps it is specific to that version
