Error 15 pl_commonutility.m4p Line 347

  • 1.  Error 15 pl_commonutility.m4p Line 347

Cannot find this error anywhere.  Cannot figure out why this error even occurs because customer has been using paperless office forever and this error all of a sudden occurs. I even get the same error when running the register at the Sage application server.

Look up pl_commonutility* in KB and you'll get some hits.

I've already done that Steve, and there is nothing of use to me.

To add to what Lee shared, here is more info on Error 15.  Maybe uninstall/reinstall the PDF converter?  Also, maybe a firewall issue.

    Error #15

    Operating system command failed

    Possible Reasons:

       •  Returned from the operating system. For more details, PRINT MSG(-1). One possible reason: exhaustion of .bmp handles.
       •  In [TCP]: Cannot open the socket locally or general TCP failure on file I/O.

Try changing the default for opening PDFs to Edge and see if that resolves it.   Have had a number of times were there are issues with Acrobat

I think we may have a permissions issue here ... waiting to hear from the client if someone has been messing around with network permissions.  I just tested printing something else in Sage that goes to PDF and whaddya know, no error 15 and the PDF generates just fine.  :(

Check with Scanco on this error.  I have two or three clients that experienced that error; and Scanco provided me a replacement PL_CommonUtility file.

Thank you @Madeline Stefanou.  I will do that.  I am now very suspicious that this is OM related because guess what, this error occurred with the Daily Labor Register.

I did not see that, nor did a search find that.  I am totally disgusted with the Sage KB (I've seen the other ramblings on this in 90minds), and this resolution is lame (wholesale rebuild all key files seems like a typical Sage response, not from the developer).  Anyway, the program is different it's M4P not PVC.  I'm waiting to hear back from Scanco as I've taken @Madeline Stefanou suggestion for a new program.
