  • 1.  Error #12: File does not exist (or already exists) GL_CHANGEACCOUNTS_UI.pvc

    Can anyone point me in the right direction with this one? When trying to open GL Change Accounts, getting this in 2 of the company codes. The live & test co only. Other smaller companies open this task up fine. I tried to reinitialize the file & then manually reinitialize in the test company & doesn't help. There are no customizations to this screen/grid. Updated all panels. No scripts.

    I reviewed the SY_GridDefinition file & found 7 records for GLCHANGEACCOUNTS, but compared them to another system & they match. And, all records are for all users/all company codes, so wondering what other data file is company specific that is holding this up.

    Any enhancements?  Sometimes rarely used utilities don't work with modified programs.

    @Kevin Moyes thanks for the suggestion! I am going to dig a bit more into that. They do have some common enhancements & trying to rule out what is only in use in 2 of their 7 company codes that could be causing this.

    Check the sy0ctl.soa file for a record whose key is "W/O" + the company code of the companies that the error occurs under.  If the record exists, check to see if the WOR file for that company exists in the WOXXX directory.

    That was exactly it. @Marcos DeLuna actually helped me identify that & there were records in that file that should not be. Once I removed them, the task opened again. I forgot to post that fix. Thank you for following up & adding that detail!!  ~Dana

    Yes, in this case, it is because the change accounts utility is checking for unposted data in the various entry tasks.  So it checks if the WO module was activated for the company and attempts to open and read the WOR file.  My guess is that the affected companies once had the WO module activated but was later removed, possibly incorrectly, so it left the records in the sy0ctl.soa file.
