  • 1.  Error 11 opening a role (upgrade) Record 'X/K' is missing from '*memory*'

    Upgrade from v2020 to 2021 to 2023 (All Premium, fun with JT to PM!).

    In both the v2021 and v2023 system I'm getting an error in Role Maintenance.  It happens opening an existing role, or trying to create a new role.

    "Record 'X/K' is missing from '*memory*'.

    There are enhancements by Repay, InSynch, ScanForce (x2) and DSD (x10), plus ScanCo's PM for v2021, but nothing related to a module "X/K".

    Source v2020 has this is Role Maintenance, but nothing in the installed modules listing nor System Configuration.

    I can only assume this is a remnant of an old uninstalled enhancement, but I can't find out how to get past the error.

    I found and removed rows related to X/K in SY_RoleSecurity... but it didn't help. 

    Any tips on where I can hunt down this rogue reference to the phantom module in other tables / files would be most welcome.

    Try looking in SY0CTL.SOA  (make a backup copy of the file before deleting the records). when you do a lookup, the various module references are pretty easy to spot. if there are X/K records you can probably delete them

    Thanks for the suggestion David.  I didn't find anything referencing X/K in that file (not even starting with T. or lowercase L).

    Partial Records from a module included by a 3rd party or partial uninstall that left stranded SY_task records.

    Look for the last key, if the module code listed is a valid module that should exist, re-install that module.

    If the module should not exist and there is no uninstall in System Configuration (Library Master, Setup, System Configuration) then manually purge records from SY_Task, via Data File Display and Maintenance, that are from that module

    There was also an X/K record in SY_Task.  After removing this, I was able to get into Role Maintenance properly. :-)

    Now I can enjoy the weekend without worrying about this!
