Erisana for Credit Card processing with Sage 100

I thought I asked this question already, but can't find a prior posting; if a duplicate my apologies in advance.

Has anyone worked with Erisana and a Merchant Gateway to address Credit Card Processing in place of the big three we are most familiar with?  I attended a client meeting today, and from what I have seen it may be an excellent option for our clients.  It does not require any installation into Sage 100, just Custom UDF Fields, some Custom Buttons on screens and a number of pre-written scripts.  It can be used in parallel with existing CC Processors.   Positives include:

    • No installation so no impact on existing 3-rd party add on products
    • Process is similar to existing process, where you can save credit cards in an encrypted vault
    • Multiple Processers are available
    • Supports multiple sales order deposits on the same sales order easily
    • Erisana Fees are:  $ 250 one time set up fee for Scripts; $ 75 per month plus $ 0.10 per transaction (not based on dollar amount, based on quantity of charges)
    • Merchant Fees are based on the Gateway you choose, client is going with Blue Gateway which is 14 Basis Points (more than Repay at 12 Basis Points); but with no hidden fees and no new Sage Integration Fee CC Processors are starting to add to use the standard Sage 100 Credit Card Integration
    • Uses a Service running on the server.

    Any thoughts on this product?

We have one client that has started using them. It has gone mostly well and support has been good especially at the beginning. I was a little worried since it only seems to be the one programmer.

It is interesting that this integration is mostly Custom Office scripts too. It gathers the necessary data from Sage and then pushes to the CC website. It is setup in a way the Erisana can change CC processing company at a later date if they want. Also since it is really custom office scripts, I am opportunistic that future upgrades will be easier than other CC companies too.

My client is also running V2024 SQL. They do about 100 payments a month with them. This s down from 250-300 a month since they starting passing the CC fees back to the client.

They did have to re-enter CC information as Ebiz could/would not release them.

Feel free to reach directly to me for more information.

    Thank you

    Michael

Do the cash receipts work well (matching payments to open invoices)?

The Erisana website claims they offer a lot of the same features ( Level 3, customer portal ) however as we know the details are what count. Especially given that there are at least four incumbents (not counting Sage) offering well established portals, click2pay, etc.

I don't tell clients much about payment processors except than when providers are small they are all great. Then they sell to a bigger company ( stop me if you've heard this before). The (former) owner buys a big boat and travels the world. The client is left as a much smaller fish in the bigger pond of the acquiring payment company.

I'm all for the client making their decision. I tell the stories of what I've seen happen and let the client decide.

Along Wayne's lines here. Go beyond the credit card capture issue.

A big advantage of the Big 3 is the customer portal. This is C2P and more. When customer gets to the porta,l can they see all (regardless of how they were entered) their invoices, open and paid. How about partial? Can customers pay with cc or ACH? Can they seen their outstanding balance and pick and choose which to pay in full or partially?

Customer and Vendor portals an increasingly Big Deal. Ensure your customer considers it, at least.

Do you know the management behind this company?

Their website is generic , zero mention of company history, founders/background and their address appears to come back to a furnished office suite ( https://www.vancouveroffice.com/ ).  This all seems like a red flag for a company that is entrusted to maintain and access credit card information.

I also ran a Google Gemini AI Deep Research and it came back with an educated guess who could be behind this. I'm not sure I agree but it started me thinking about how generic the website is which just seems odd.

The owner/founder/developer is Ken Rhodes from Vancouver.  He was a Sage 300 Developer, and now is focused on his home grown product.  They are only 3-employess at this time, he is hoping to grow +3 in the next year.  I liked what I saw, and was impressed with the process of of using UDF's, Custom Buttons and Scripts with a Service to load data up to his portal.  It does offer receipts upon charge, invoices to the customer if you chose, an option for Surcharge/Convenience Fee, click to pay, and full integration with Cash Receipts.  It uses ODBC for Standard/Advanced and a SQL DNS for Premium.

As I learn more, I will report back.

How does the vaulting of credit card information work? Do they provide the vault or use something else?

    to close this discussion:

Our client brought them in as an option, working with a local financial consultant.  The features they showed in Sage 100 were quite impressive, as they were all scripts and links and buttons that launched the portal and provided secure transmittal of credit card information back and forth.  I reached out to Ken Rhoades directly for some details and he never responded.  They are a very small company of just 3 people, in Canada, and ultimately, my client choose to stay with Repay for now.

A client in Iowa decided to take the plunge.  Their bank (US Bank) pushed hard for it.  Their GM thought they were paying too much for the Paya/Nuvei interface.  Nuvei offered to lower its rates.  I watched for 90 minutes as Kent Rhodes worked through the installation process.  He still has setup work to do.  It seems all of the above concerns are in play.  Time will tell.  Of course, no mention of reseller commission.

BTDT - except it was eBizCharge that laughed when I mentioned commission. Actually I don't know who laughed harder eBiz or DSD when I suggested that I'd provided the client with a lot of information/feedback on payment providers. I just don't spend much time with any of them. It's a paid project or the client can setup their own CC integration. I feel like the era of payment providers thinking they need us is coming to a close ( not entirely but there's definitely a change in how payment providers value - or don't value - VARS).

Of the "commodity" type solution providers, credit card providers have been one for the least problematic for me in earning commissions.  I continue to refer and get commissions (albeit not as often as before) from multiple affiliates.  Even Repay still pays commissions although they are hard to even connect with these days.

I do receive commissions from some of the payment companies. Although I would be stuck trying to reconcile them to exactly what clients they relate to.

My issue is that unless I refer and close within 30 days these payment providers seem to presume I had no role in them making their proposal and winning some pretty lucrative business. eBizCharge outright dened any commission and appealing to my "mothership" got crickets chirping...

I think the saying goes "you teach people how to treat you" and I certainly have learned from this experience.

@Wayne Schulz - I agree with the paltry details of the payments.  All of them seem to think a total without customer details is sufficient.
