Equipment Maintenance Tracking Options

Good morning! I have a client on Sage 2019 with JobOps that would like to start maintaining an equipment maintenance schedule for their machines and tools along with notes, etc. I'm newer to Operations Management so haven't dug into this Equipment Asset stuff yet, but I'm wondering if that would do anything else for us. I was also thinking just UDF/UDT but there has to be something more formal with more function out there. Maybe the Fixed Assets program has maintenance and repair tracking? Any other suggestions to consider? Thanks in advance.

I had a brief dance with a customer who could have benefited from FAS and its ties to Sage 100 for maintenance costs, etc. It never went far enough to have any significant experience with it. It would be worth your while to talk somebody at the Sage FAS group for details to evaluate.

IMO OM/JobOps would be overkill. It has a nice facility to handle maintenance & service on products, but it's oriented around service contracts, and invoicing customers. The customer would have to have a very painful situation to solve for before I'd consider this.

Although I wasn't involved much and don't know if the clients proceeded, within the past year or so I was aware of a client looking into Trackunit and another client considering Fleet Manager.

With Sage Fixed Assets Inventory, the user defined fields can be used to track and schedule maintenance on equipment.  Another option is a DSD solution called Service Center that fully integrates with Sage 100; it's added as a module in the system.  It works wonderfully!

DSD also appears to have an Equipment Maintenance add-on - https://www.dsdinc.com/enhancements/marketplace/products/emem-equipment-maintenance

Thanks all - I was reading the DSD add-on a little over the weekend. Trying to figure if/how their "work tickets" will conflict with JT work tickets.

We had one client that implemented Equipment Maintenance from DSD and was happy with it.  They were acquired by a large corp several years ago and no longer use Sage.  I doubt there would be any Sage related conflicts with JT work tickets, I believe they are completely contained in the DSD enhancement.

We routinely add the Field Service and Dispatch powered by JobOps Module to our Operation Management Clients for maintaining equipment.  It supports them setting up the equipment in Asset Maintenance, defining a Service Contract and setting Preventative Maintenance Schedules.  The client then has their maintenance team generate PM's monthly (or weekly), to fill the calendar with work to be done on units.  They also use FSD Dispatch Board to enter Break Fix projects.

Fixed Assets Tracking works well for tracking, especially for items that are in different locations, but that is its primary function - tracking. For an end user using JobOps/Operations Management, they already know that functionality, so I would seriously consider @Madeline Stefanou suggestion about the Field Service and Dispatch module. It adds the functionality you need for scheduled maintenance and tracking.

Thank you again, John! I did spend some time earlier in the week playing with my Equipment Asset, Service Agreement and Preventive Maintenance tasks in my demo 2019 system but could not figure out how to get work tickets to properly generate for a new machine and  schedule I created, but I think I understand the concept and have sent a little bit of information to the client to review. If he's interested, then I have to work through my issues to be ready to demo it.
