  • 1.  Enhancement Upgrade / Licensing question (v 2020 to 2025)

    Posted 10-31-2025 12:23

I'm getting ready to upgrade a customer from Sage 100 Advanced 2020 to 2025.  Everything should be smooth but I'm curious about the two enhancements that they have.  The two enhancements are:
    1.  DSD enhancement for Avatax inegration
    2.  Repay credit card integration

Both of these have their own license keys and I was wondering if the current keys will still be valid.  Since the Sage license keys don't change I don't see why these should change either.  The other question is whether or not I will have to reenter the keys during/after the upgrade.  Again, I don't think that this will be necessary but since I'm doing this upgrade over the weekend I don't want to be scrambling to get new keys on Monday morning.

Thank you for your help and advice!

    Hi Chuck,

I just did an Sage 100 upgrade from 2020-2025 with Avatax integration and Paya.

So I can't speak to Repay but for mine, I did the normal reinstall but other than that I did not have to enter new keys for anything.

Make sure the DSD registration file from the MAS90\SOA directory is copied to the new version same folder, but you shouldn't need a new one.

    I hope that helps.

    Thank you

    Debby

I believe the DSD AvaTax uses the same .enc file in the SOA folder as long as the Sage unlocking keys don't change.  Not sure about Repay keys.  One note of caution on Repay is I believe you will have to re-enter all of the setup information.  At least I have had to each time I have upgraded Repay.

Repay did change their key structure a number of years ago.  This is from our upgrade checklist (for after the test migration):

Be extra careful with Repay if you also have DSD multi-currency.

If you check the Developer # (3 digit code) of Repay, and it is not ASI you might be OK... but I always have this on my radar for upgrades involving Repay.

Chuck I see you forgot to use the strikethrough font on your phrase: "Everything should be smooth"  :-)
