  • 1.  Engineering Change Management Similar to Sage 500

    I have an existing Sage 100 user who emailed me a brochure about the Sage 500 Engineering Change Management functionality. They stated their production area would like similar functionality for Sage 100.

    I know Sage 100 BOM has engineering changes but I don't think on the scale of what Sage 500 offers.

    Anyone dealt with this before - does the new Production Management offers this? Job Ops ( Sage MFG ) ?

    Production Management will look for and use the effective dates defined by BOM engineering change control; but it doesn't expand the functionality.

    Wayne, PM has the ability to mark a work ticket step as a Change Order - it's a checkbox field.  You also can make a Status Change to record the date and time the change order was made, as well as utilize the step's text to record notes.

    Sage 100 is pretty limited compared to 500 in features revolving around change control.  I have attached the brochure for 500 about this.  When a client begins needing these types of features as must-haves, a change in ERP system is beginning to be warranted.  500 has built-in pick pack ship functions more fully rich than what is being offered through Multi-bin premium, you can ship to multiple ship-to addresses on one sales order, etc.  Not that someone would move to 500 at this stage but the features exist in competing packages.
