Looking for a bullet list of "Operations Management" concerns I can share with David Gunnell (VP Engineering); James Leazier (Product Manager) and possible Seth Fike (VP of Sales) at the re-branded Scanco Company (Endpoint Automation Solutions).  Specifically, he is looking for "what we would like to see with the product" so he can then explain what they can do and a timeline of when they think it can be accomplished.

I have my own list of pet peeves and problems, but thought I would reach out to our community for insight into what you see and what you experience. Feel free to reply to this post, or reach out to me personally with your thoughts and concerns.  MStefanou@RKLeSolutions.com

Functionality in Production Management that is not in Operations Management (the reasons I recommend PM unless they absolutely must have make-to-order work tickets):  1. Lack of MRP   2. No cost rollup   3.  No labor backflush option   4. Inability to enter a make-to-stock work ticket without a sales order   5. Data validation errors (they're not all attributable to incorrect processes).
    6. The main reason is that it is incompatible with Scanforce.  While I certainly don't expect Endpoint to make this happen, IMHO the best thing they could do for OM is to get their scanning solution functionality issues worked out and overhaul their Support department so they become a viable scanning solution on a par with Scanforce, or at least not the painful experience it is today.

I don't do any OM and will be glad to not do any as that's just not my specialty. Off the top of my head and not reading any other replies, here are some basic ISV 101 suggestions.

    1. It seems like a lot of solutions for OM problems are patches that users are having trouble finding ( or not searching for ) it seems like these patches/fixes/KB need to be more widely distributed.
    2. The updates for OM should be available in a reasonable time for Sage 100 users to upgrade to the next level. What's reasonable? I'd say 30 days after the Sage final release. Certainly no later than 90. This is just my .02.

I would love to see OM handle partial costing of partial completions. If you have a WT for 50 and issue material for 50 and complete 1 using actual cost method, it takes the cost for all 50 and puts it into that 1. Then the other 49 completions come through at $0 cost. I would like to see it work the same as PM where it recognizes that the first completion should only be for 1/50th the WIP.

@Madeline Stefanou oh the list is long, but not worth my effort any more.  I accept that OM is 'as is' because there have been way too many promises unfulfilled these past many years, by the same people.

Who is attending MOTM from Endpoint?  Anyone with any real power to change?  Nice to chat up Ross and others, if someone with the authority/desire/ability is not making an appearance, then I agree with @Jane Scanlan, this is a pipe dream and an exercise in futility.  How many times can Lucy yank the football out from under Charlie Brown?

Bottom line at the end of the day, if we can't demonstrate how this investment will increase their margins, they will continue to invest in other software publishers.

One of my biggest issues has always been the complete lack of communication/documentation about program fixes available for OM. I have asked them multiple times via calls, emails and in-person conferences for ways to keep updated on reported program defects and status of fixes, yet I continue to suffer through troubleshooting and correcting issues that I find out later are already known and/or resolved.

    Hey Team,

I just wanted to give you a quick update from my recent chat with Cody and Andrew from Endpoint. We had a really productive conversation, and I'm feeling optimistic about where things are headed!

We focused on how we can make our collaboration even more valuable and align better with what our group needs. Cody and Andrew shared some great insights on how we can shift our discussions from just tackling challenges to finding proactive solutions. They're really keen on creating more positive, meaningful conversations within 90 Minds.

One cool idea we discussed is setting up an ideation board-a space where everyone can share ideas, give feedback, and help us continuously improve. Cody and Andrew are super excited about this, and I think it's going to be a fantastic way to get fresh perspectives from all of you on all ISVs.

We also talked about the possibility of hosting a webinar or roundtable session before the Meeting of the Minds conference to keep the momentum going. It's all about creating spaces for open, productive discussions.

All in all, it was a really encouraging conversation, and it's clear they want to grow, collaborate and make a positive impact.
