  • 1.  Encrypted data and Greytrix link to Salesforce

    Posted 02-24-2025 12:20

I have a client that uses Greytrix to link Sage 100 and Salesforce using SDATA.  They are a bit unusual in that they have a  link to payables that was specially created for them.

There is a two-way communication between Sage and Salesforce that includes taxpayer ID numbers.

Since we recently upgraded to 2024, the encryption of TINs makes it so that the data cannot be pulled from Sage 100 via SDATA.

I know how to deal with this in Crystal reports added to a menu in Sage 100,  but does anyone know any information on making the unencrypted TINs available to pull to Salesforce?

I kind of suspect this is really going to have to be something that Greytrix is going to have to work with Sage on.  Possibly with their upcoming replacement of SDATA in the 2025 version..

    Hi Tom,

    2 things.

    1. Ask this question on Sage Community Hub /Sage City and see if one of the Sage engineers answers as to whether SDATA applications can in general, decrypt PII encrypted fields such as the TIN and if they say yes, point Greytrix to your post (so they can adjust their code).

    2. Reading PII encrypted fields through BOI does decrypt the values. On No 1 if Sage says SDATA by design cannot decrypt PII values at all, then Greytrix would have to do this integration project using BOI or the upcoming SDATA replacement in the 2025 version. I suspect though Greytrix has run into this issue with another customer.
