I have a customer new to PR 2.0.  Sage Advanced V 2019.  PU2 I think.  We have one employee that is having the additional medicare wages withheld from his pay even though he is not at the $200,000 wages level.  Currently, he began having the Additional Medicare wages withheld at $103,000.  This appears to be wrong based on IRS rules.

Anybody know anything?  Am I missing a set up or level somewhere?

    Thanks

    Cooper

Does he have a special profile or tax rule for his earnings that is causing this?

His tax profile and tax rules are the same as all the others.  He is an owner and is the only one that has reached this limit.

Have you looked in the Tax Summary, Detail and Capped Wages?

Yes we did check that.  I am on with Sage support now.  They are looking at the Federal taxes related to the Excess GTL (Group Term Life) tax.

We found that there is a bug in the tax calculations related to these GTL Coverages.  There is a hot fix and a permanent fix in a later PR version that we are on but by unchecking these boxes, the additional medicare wages and related taxes are not withheld any longer.

Thank you for helping Nancy and others.

What version of PRv2.2?  I am not seeing that hotfix release for v2.2.2.

I think that's fix 6017T, or you can move to Payroll 2.20.1 where the fix has been applied.  Fix 6017T is included in KB 102427 if I'm not mistaken.

I think I have everyone on v2.20.2 so it should not be an issue.
