Other than renaming - is there any way to edit the favorites links a user has on their toolbar?

I have several favorites that run batch files and it's readily apparent what BAT file they are linked to.

I tried looking in favorites.json but that is mostly gibberish

I am looking for the ability to right click and select "edit" on a favorite and then view either the task it was assigned or the external program ( batch file )

I have never figured out a way.  Would be a nice feature.  There are times I would like to see where the program and client doesn't know either.

Because once you add a batch file or other external program to favorites I see no way to tell what the favorite links to. This is especially true if the favorite is renamed.

The only thing you can do is backup the favorites file and that file appears to be kept locally. Have fun visiting 20+ desktops regularly and doing an individual backup.

Granted, in most cases this feature only gets light usage ( if any ). It just seems half done.

This continues to come around -- issue with not being able to tell exactly where a non-Sage task is mapped to.

If you create a significant set of favorites and some of those are bat files - you will not be able to see or change where those favorites are linked to.

Quite frankly extensive use of Favorites as an alternate menu just doesn't scale ( but it does demo well ).

It probably works for the two-person office however those sites are much less common than a 10 or 20 user location.

If you inherit these customers and they have set up a significant set of Favorites it can be difficult to support because:

    a. you can't create just one master "Favorites" companywide and edit that - must have individual favorites ( I know you can copy - see next item ) - and these are all stored in local user folders
    b. If you have a virtual environment with remote desktops you likely need to be a super admin to get into everyone's user folder ( most IT providers for larger organizations aren't handing out the administrator login )
    c. As noted, adding batch files is great until you need to see exactly what bat file was added and where it's located - there is nowhere to go to see that info once you have added it -- so you are forced to look around and guess at where a batch file may have been stored

What do you expect?  Annual subscription renewal ONLY generates $140,000,000 (give or take $20,000,000) in Sage 100 revenue.  And most of that is sent over to Intacct.....

Time to focus on the people who got you to the dance.

An oldie but goodie on how United fixed the issue 30 years ago.

Oh, BTW, be sure to vote on the two ideas offered above.  Neither have achieved critical mass (what ever that is Sage's eyes).

    PLEASE VOTE!!!
