  • 1.  eBridge Connection - Feedback/Recommendation?

    One of our clients is implementing Magento with integration with Sage 100. Those implementing Magento are planning to use eBridge Connection. I'm looking for feedback on working with eBridge's product and what areas to watch out for. Responses can be posted on 90Minds or by private message.

    One of my customers has ebridge and overall, it seemed to get the job done. However the biggest complaint is that Ebridge doesn’t have the ability to take credit cards from the website and send it to Sage for processing. I believe there were some other limitations in regards to what information it could pass from Sage 100 to the website.

    If Ebridge is not a done deal, you may want to also consider talking to Simon Quinn at Certipro. They have a bridge for Magento that is pretty powerful and he is really well versed in Ebridge so even if you do not go on that direction, he can tell you what to look out for. He’s always been a great resource for me on that front over the years.

    I second Tara's suggestion. Certipro specializes in Magento-Sage 100 ecomm.

    An ecomm site that doesn't FULLY automate the cc process should be a non-starter for a buyer.

    Thank you for all the comments. The website redo is being managed by the marketing department. Their due diligence on functional requirements is a bit lacking.

    Be careful once the marketing department takes control. I just had a customer fly to another Sage partner who I believe was initially engaged by the marketing department for a smaller project.

    Myron - I second Wayne's warning. I was originally a marketing guy, and I am constantly disappointed by the competence shown by marketing firms regarding any sort of integrations outside of marketing --- even into the sales dept.

    Try to suggest to the Controller that marketing can - and should - have all responsibility for the Customer's UI on the site. BUT their responsibility stops at the edge of integrating with the accounting system. Anything that touches the finance system must be the Controller's responsibility because that department will have to deal with problems and inefficiencies. In addition to the cc processing load, there are also integrations to products, pricing and customer price levels, shipping, product availability and more. Leaving these decisions to the marketing dept nearly guarantees that the finance dept will end up hiring more people to compensate.
