E-filing - ""Unable to download new updater"" when launching E-filing and it needs to download updated forms. Sage has a resolution id (519163), which I followed, yet the message still appeared. Opened a case and got the following unpublished resolution: ""Unable to download new updater."", occurs in eFiling and Reporting in Sage MAS 90 and 200. Entry Type: Informational Product: Sage ERP MAS 90 Sage ERP MAS 200 Application: Payroll Version Reported: 4.40 Subject: ""Unable to download new updater."", occurs in eFiling and Reporting in Sage MAS 90 and 200. Possible Resolution: This error seems to occur when the Aatrix Updater files are very old. Please download the latest quarterly eFiling update from Sage MAS Home page. 1.Go to http://aatrix.com/sagemas 2.Under the Quarterly Updates section, click link Sage MAS90 and 200. 3.Click to Save the MAS90.exe file to your workstation desktop. 4.Double click to Run the MAS90.exe file 5.Click Yes at prompt ""The setup will perform an upgrade of 'State/Federal eFiling and Reporting' Do you want to continue?"" Thought I'd share, since this cost the client a visit from their IT provider as well as my time chasing after this issue.

I hate unpublished resolutions. I wish we didn't have to use a case just to get something we could have found in a KB if someone just clicked the ""visible"" button.

And Sage always gives the canned answer ""Well, they're hidden because we haven't tested them and don't want anyone to have problems ... "" yet Sage has no explanation as to why these bulletins are freely sent out by their help desk without any preliminary diagnosis. So far as I've ever seen as soon as Sage's help desk finds a hidden article they copy/paste it out. It's total BS in my opinion and I've been complaining about it for years.

These hidden issues so piss me off that I'm taking another run at asking Sage to do away with them. I've used our annonymized discussion here as one example. I figure maybe we can catch Pascal Houillon's attention.
