During MOTM there was a note that one of the software packages (Altec?) actually tracked container shipments. I need a mechanism to handle shipments from Asia to the US. Need to know what is shipped, when it shipped, the planned arrival, etc. Anybody remember this?

Jerry, do you have a website or some other information? There seems to be a ton of businesses using ""shiplink"" as their moniker...

Doesn't look like it deals with container shipments via oceanic transport, only small to LTL to Truck transportation. Did I miss something? The conversation was definitely about shipping from overseas.

Maybe use CRM cases? @PeterWolf ?? Or does it need to be showing item by item in inventory, in which case maybe receive into an ""ocean"" warehouse upon shipment and then transfer when it actually arrives?

I think it's Smartlinc that was discussed. Found that Wayne wrote about it a year ago. Do you still think as highly of it as you did @WayneSchulz?

I believe SCANforMAS has In-transit Warehouses as part of the transfer process.

could you use leankit - create a board of inbound POs and have different lanes for where each container is?

could this be handled on the PO side through UDF's and/or UDT's? Set them up at the detail level so you could track all items expected on any given shipment? What else has to be done with the data after the shipment is received?
