  • 1.  Duplicate oject names encountered

    I have a customer on Sage 100 Advanced 2018 PU8

    When they go into Job Cost and click on the "More.." button they are getting this error. I do not see any customized panels ( did not give me to the option to rebuild ). 

    I did the Panel Settings - Reset Panel

    If I click on the OK it goes by the error. Not sure what to check next. Sage KB has no reports and a cursory Google search uncovers nothing close.

    That is a known bug and one of the service updates mentions it, but of course I can't find anything about it on the KB now.  I have seen this on one of my Adv 2018 clients, as well.  Mostly on report screens and I was able to go into Custom Office and remove the duplicate (because they really are there).

    I keep getting the "Items from the original Sage 100 panel cannot be deleted
    If I drag one of the duplicates and flag it hidden/inactive then both are hidden and presumably inactive.

    I think I was only successful when it was on a Report screen.  We've just lived with it on the data entry screen.  Couldn't update them because of 3rd party.

    Update: 

    Well I found the issue but not sure how it got there or how to resolve it.
    If I click on More it opens to Cost Code Detail.
    If I right click that and open in Customizer I can see multiple fields have been duplicated and are overlayed.

    The trick is I can't edit and delete since the system says "Items from the original Sage 100 panel cannot be deleted"

    Great idea - I took my 2019 JC_Job.M4L and copied it to the customer's 2018 system. So far it seems to be working.
