DSD/Scanco basic MB says RMA Returns are in process

  • 1.  DSD/Scanco basic MB says RMA Returns are in process

    Hi All

      I am trying to enable Basic MB in a warehouse.  It tells me that Data entry is in progress for RMA returns.   There are no batches open.   RA_ReturnHeader and RA_ReturnDetail have data but I THINK that is just entries of the RMAs (not super familiar with RMA data).   Should these be empty?  Or is their a flag somewhere saying that there is an entry in progress?    If this was Providex I would try creating empty files but it is premium so it would be way more of a chore (at least for me).

    Robert, can you review the RA_ReceiptHeader and RA_ReceiptDetail tables instead?

    Bob  go to RMA Receipts Entry. It sounds like there is an open batch there.

       That is what I thought too but no batches.  Even with a verify.    Plus the RA Receipts data tables are empty..

    Have you tried re-inialiatizing the data files?  I get errors like this as times even when there is nothing there. Make sure to include the 140MB table in as part of this. I don't recall off the top of my head which one it is for RMA.

       Thanks, I looked and they are all empty.   They should be as MB has not yet been enabled.   FYI, this is Premium.   I will open a ticket.

    Try re-initiliazing the data files themselves and see if that helps. I'm not sure if you did that already but I think this would be the best thing to try. I've run into this before with MB but usually I see it in PO or SO.

    Hi Tara,  This is Premium so the data is in SQL - less chance of "litter".  I went ahead an ran it anyway with no change.   I DID wind up finding a record in RA_ReciptsMemo but clearing that didn't help.   I tried rebuilding sorts to see if that would clear anything and still the same message

    And just in case - here is the list I found online for this for you. Note - the tier distribution could be your problem child of you are getting an error from MB that it's in use. Note - this list came from AI so please confirm the names but it was faster than logging into Sage online. I'm running out the door but wanted to at least get this to you. Do verify it's right.  

    Choose the following files:
    • RA_GenerateTransactions
    • RA_ReceiptsDetail
    • RA_ReceiptsHeader
    • RA_ReceiptsReceiving
    • RA_ReceiptsRestart
    • RA_ReceiptsTierDistribution

    I created a return in standard edition and ran the transaction generation.  The tables in the attached screen shot were modified.  You may check to see if there are any orphaned records in these tables that need to be cleared.

    Hi Tara/Doug,

       I reinitialized all the ones that Tara listed.   The RA_DeleteRenumberMergeXref has 430 records in it.   As I don't know what function it is used for, I am leery of wiping it out.  The client does a lot of RMAs..

    Maybe back up to a test company code then reinitialize it to see if that table is the culprit.

    Hi All,   It is going to have to be a call to DSD.   I copied the company and when I accessed the copy, it said that MB was not enabled (so there is clearly something that does not get copied).  Went through the steps.  Did the DSD conversion and I was could enable MB in the warehouse.  I went back and looked and RA_DeleteRenumberMergeXref was empty in the copy company.    So I copied them over to the test company table and did a reinit on it.   Still no joy.   I am baffled.

    I'm not sure if the RMA module leaves flags in this file but it is worth a look and no one seems to have mentioned it.

    PO_ReceiptReturnMatRqByPO.M4t

    If a receipt or return is in progress it puts a record in this file.  Sometimes the record doesn't get removed after posting. Used DFDM to remove any orphaned records.

    @Robert Wood  I got an email from Ken Phillips directly but DSD said that Sage handles support for MB basic.  They of course had no ideas.

    Hi All,   Ken at DSD looked at the code and the issue is that you cannot have any RMA's entered when enabling MB.   It can be moved out of urgent support.
