I spotted this in a recent DSD Development email. The link leads to a list of 10 new features in multi-bin.

1. UOM Display in Bin Location Maintenance and Item Bin Maintenance – shows unit-of-measure for each bin to improve clarity.

2. New "Exclude Restricted" Option – prevents restricted bins from being used during auto-allocation.

3. Allocation Options by Data Entry Type – allows different bin allocation settings based on transaction type like picking or shipping.

4. Customer/Item-Specific Bin Restrictions – limits bin use to specific customers or items to control inventory flow.

5. On-the-Fly Bin Location Transfers – enables users to move inventory between bins during transactions without leaving the screen.

6. Auto-Allocation During Picking Sheet Printing – assigns bins automatically when generating pick sheets.

7. Maintain Lot/Serial Expiration Dates – tracks expiration dates at the bin level for better lot/serial management.

8. Auto-Generate Bin Locations – creates bin locations using naming conventions to save setup time.

9. Define Location Types for Bins – categorizes bins by function such as picking, reserve, or staging.

10. Set Minimum and Maximum Bin Quantities – helps manage inventory levels by enforcing per-bin thresholds.
