DropBox question: I'm using DropBox Basic (there is also Business and Pro). Has anyone solved the auto-inherit new folders issue? This is for every (client's) server where you have installed DropBox. And you have configured the selective sync feature to only sync files in a certain (client) folder. The issue is every NEW (client) folder that you create is automatically set to sync on all previous installations of DropBox. You have to visit all previous (client) DropBox installations and un-sync each new folder added.

The way I solve it: - Paid $99 for a Dropbox (additional) - Use this ONLY for customer sites - Share from my personal Dropbox to Customer Dropbox - Make this share READ ONLY + only load in the files you need for upgrades - Once the files sync up on the customer I'll cut/paste into a local folder and usually remove the Dropbox The reason it works for me is that my folder structures don't change much. Also be sure you set the share to read-only so you don't get any virus/crypto-locker nonsense. I would be reluctant to load a personal dropbox (or any that has important info) to a customer site because they can change the selective sync at any time -- plus the issue with inheriting new folders. Dropbox is one of my favorite tools for upgrades. It took me a little while to figure out the procedure but once I have it down it's now very simple and quick to stage all the files that I need.
