Dropbox question. I have a Dropbox Pro account (paid) with 1TB of free space. I have a client that I would like to upload a 2.5GB file to my Public folder. The client does not have a Dropbox account. How can I send him a link so he can UPLOAD the 2.5GB file into my public folder?

Login remotely to his desktop, install your Dropbox, create a folder inside dropbox ""Client Upload"", click advance and selectively sync only that folder to the desktop.Copy the file into that folder. Once done uninstall the dropbox from the client. I don't think they can send you a file any other way -- though if someone has a method with a non-paid account I'd be interested.

Thanks @MoiraGoggin and @WayneSchulz The file I need is on a server the IT person will not let me have remote access, much less install ""unnecessary software"" like Dropbox. Yea too bad Dropbox does not allow for a one time client upload to a paid account.

How would the client access the file? Do they have a connection to the server where they can copy it to their desktop? If so you can sync off their desktop or just remote to their desktop and use the web version of Dropbox to upload.

Yes that would work! I'll ask the IT person to copy the file to a user's desktop in the accounting dept. Then I can remotely connect to her workstation and take it from there. Thanks @WayneSchulz
