Has anyone heard of DreamingCode or TEKOA software?  One of my clients would like to go B2B and before contacting us, reached out to DreamingCode.  They are offering a B2B solution using a Sage 100 API written by TEKOA.  TEKOA's website has a page devoted to Sage 100 integration.  We of course will try to steer the client toward Sage-endorsed solutions but wanted to be able to provide them with any helpful information about these two solutions.

At a minimum here's some due diligence you could do:

    1. Ask for references of companies who have used TEKOA's API with Sage 100.
    2. Ask DreamingCode how many Sage 100 integrations they've implemented with TEKOA.
    3. Ask DreamingCode if API supports UDFs assuming client requires writing to or reading from UDFs when say a web order creates a SO in Sage.

(maybe this is a non-customizable contract API which means the DreamingCode developers cannot change the contract to expose UDFs. Note SData uses a contract system too but whenever you add UDFs with UDF Maintenance, the contract file is updated making UDFs available to SData)

    4. Ask if it's a cookie-cutter solution or if it can be customized.

(I worked for a company that made non-contract web service REST integrations for Sage 100 customers who were either B2B (where web order created SO in Sage) or inter-company situation where one division created a PO that sent data via API to the other for SO to got created there. EVERY SINGLE implementation was custom in some way to match the way they manually created SO's. Even if you explored say INSYNCH from ROI, for all the implementations they've done, I'll bet you very few are cookie-cutter.)

I have a client already using Tekoa's API for integration.  I think they had some hurdles but it's working fine for them.  I don't have much details beyond that.  When I inquired a year or so back, I suggested that Tekoa should join 90minds if they want to be more widely known.

We're in the middle of an implementation of the Tekoa Sage 100 API.  It's a little bumpy, and we ended up having to engage them for a new, custom SO Invoice endpoint since the existing SO Invoice endpoint is pretty limited.  We actually had to purchase 3 custom projects beyond the existing endpoints available, but the other two were minor.  We also discovered after the purchase and during the initial installation that they did not support Sage 100 Premium, which was half our fault for not vetting it.  But I did think they would have discovered that during their discovery.  To their credit they went back to their developers and developed a working Premium version.  Also, the developers we're working with have been a little surprised/disappointed in the lack of responses from the actual API.  The responses "out of the box" are pretty much limited to "success" or "failure."  So we've engaged Tekoa for a custom response project to let us know more detail as to which fields succeeded or failed.  All that said, it's been bumpy for sure and they're fairly slow to respond to issues, but I'm optimistic it will be good once we get the wrinkles out.  It sounds like DreamingCode already has a relationship with Tekoa, which should help.

They are located in my neck of the woods.

My clients have not had good experiences and all have stopped using their products.  That was a few years ago.  They may have improved since.
