  • 1.  Downgrade from Advanced to Standard

We have an unusual situation with a client who has 2 users, v2019, Essential Bundle and they are currently on the Advanced Platform.  They want to add FAS and only have a few hundred assets to track.  The Lite stand alone version of FAS only integrates to the Standard platform.  Otherwise they need to go to the 1 seat Network FAS which is pretty pricey compared to what they are currently using, but they are hoping to get something that integrates.  Has anyone every moved a client from the Advanced version to the Standard version and if you have are there any potential issues that need to be considered?

I would think you could install the standard version and do a migration from the Advanced version, but I have not tested it.

With only a few hundred assets to track, is it really worth the cost of moving downstream?  Doesn't sound like they are overworked in setting up assets in SFA to need an efficiency gain of entering the asset through Sage.  Need to do a depreciation entry?  Same situation.  But if your client is willing to part with the money, go for it.  I vote for Phil's recommendation.  Just warn the client that their Crystal reports will run slower with the CS ODBC in the background.
