V-Technologies, the provider of the shipping software StarShip, is migrating its platform to comply with new security requirements mandated by UPS and FedEx. This shift, scheduled to take effect between June and August 2024, necessitates that all StarShip users upgrade to at least version 24.0.2 and transition from access keys to OAuth 2.0 for authentication. This transition affects both cloud and on-premise customers, with the latter requiring installation of a web client component to facilitate the OAuth handshake and a registry modification to enable the new security protocol. While the desktop client can still be used after the upgrade, V-Technologies is encouraging users to adopt its cloud platform, citing benefits like automatic updates and reduced IT overhead.
The roundtable is going to have discussion from members who've completed several upgrades and will share their experiences.
If you have relied on V-Technologies to perform these upgrades in the past you should attend this session. Your customers may not be aware of the pending requirements so this is THE time for you to get up-to-speed on what needs to be done, how to do it and where to access resources.
