Sage 100

Doing a 4.5 parallel migration from 4.4. The admin password on the 4.4 and 4.5 system are the same. Did a system files and data files parallel migration the other day. Now doing a second migration of the data/company files and it is asking for the administrator password of new system. I type it in and it says it is the wrong password. I double and triple checked that I was typing it in okay and I was. Anyone run into this? I am wondering if something happened when it migrated the system files the first time.

Arg...Thanks @WayneSchulz . So is the only solution to reinstall 4.5 so I can reset the password? I haven't found any KB articles on Sage on this.

Brian, Sage tech support would have to e-mail you instructions to change the password or you can wait for Wayne's instructions. BTW, Wayne aren't you at the dude ranch now?

FYI - I had this exact thing happen, and I had just created the admin password about an hour earlier. Sage got me in with the 09SAM work around.

You can use the DFDM workaround - e-mail me if no one has sent it to yet.

I run into this with regularity, also. I didn't know about the DFDM workaround. Is it published somewhere?

No you have to have the secret decode ring. Send in ten box tops of Wheaties cereal (Costco Super Size), each with an Olympic gold medalist, each with a $20 bill taped to it (for postage as it is a big ring) and one will be sent. Allow six to eight weeks.

You should have been in my session at the Summit, BigLouie Explains It All in which I detailed how to do this. It is so dink simple that you sure to ""face palm"" when you hear it.

If you talked about it at Summit expect Sage to change it. That's one of the reasons we've not publicly had discussions about this. Hopefully everyone enjoys waiting for Sage to open on Mondays and them filling out the paperwork to have a password reset.

I ""think"" I kow how to deal with this but would appreciate receiving the secret knowledge from Wayne or others so I can be sure.

Thanks Wayne for your help on this! I have discovered that this issue happens each time you ""re-migrate"" or try to migrate an additional company.. At least in 4.50.04

The work around I use is to just copy the data files the second (or third time around), You also need to copy the log files for paperless.

I thought when you ran into this you ran the migration wizard from outside the interface... Or was that an older version.

Copy the ""encrypted"" System Admin password from a known system into the unknown SY_System file via DFDM. Field 21. The encryption is not unique to the system, only the software.

OH NO the secret is OUT @MikeBrown how could you! LOL BTW @JonParkinson what is the 09SAM workaround, I thought that back door was long gone.
