Does BOI use a user license? Client using eRequester to post invoices to AP, and wondering if BOI needs an available license for this activity. Also, I'm trying to locate the BOI User guide and can't find. Does anyone have a copy? TIA

At one time it did. Not sure if they removed that restriction. I would bet not.

Client is on v4.5, by the way.

Yes, it uses a user license when it logs in. Releases when you log off.

If you are on MAS200 the BOI needs another user license. If you are running on MAS90 I don't think so. This is because BOI Always runs in MAS 90 mode.

But not if you're on MAS 90 @JimWoodhead? I thought it was both..

I believe it uses the local interpretor so it doesn't count as different username, Therese I mis-read your answer. You are correct. If you aren't in MAS. It will always use a license.

I assumed the Launcher wasn't already loaded. If you run the script within MAS90 it doesn't take another user license. Outside and MAS 90 not loaded it does take a license just like running VI jobs in a batch file.

Appears it is unclear how the BOI job will be executed.

Basically, I'm backing out since I'm not sure... I trust them both so you two hash it out...

Myron has it. If you are not in MAS then it will use a license when you run the BOI script. I was referring to running a BOI script if you have MAS Open. If you are running MAS90 it won't use an additional license. ( It uses the existing MAS user) On the other hand if you are on MAS200 and you run a BOI script you will be using 2 licenses. 1 for MAS200 client and one for the BOI script.

My client is on MAS 90. One of the issues the client reports is that they can't post invoices from eRequester if their MAS 90 workstation is running. If they log off, invoices post. Maybe because they don't have enough licenses. I'll ask them to test while making sure enough licenses are available.

Made sure a license was available, and invoices posted. They just hired a new user, so all their licenses are in use more often now. New licenses in their near future.

So @BarbaraGoldstein are you saying that on MAS90, erequester uses another license even if you already running the mas90 client.

@JimWoodhead that's what appears to be happening. I expect to have more details today.
