Does anyone know what the Qty Transferred is on the ""On Demand Cost Ledger"" in WO? I can't find a transaction type that had a ""transfer"" field on it for data entry.

Aha! If you complete an item to another work order, it is considered a transfer.

Give it up, @ThereseLogeais - where did you find this? (And I wonder why it's considered a transfer, anyway?)

I was thinking that it might be considered a transfer so I tested it and sure enough, it showed up under the transferred column. I guess it is transferred TO another work order?? Does anyone even use the On Demand Cost Ledger?? It is such an ugly beast!!

Well, of course I showed it durign an on-site session I was having with someone (because I needed a little filler and I was going to show them every dang report or die trying). They'll probably never run it, but I am the dufus who blurted out ""What the heck is Transferred"" while we were viewing it. :-) And it's still a bad way of putting it, since it really just goes into inventory like every other completion. Kind of gets their hopes up. THANKS for testing that - I never would have thought of it.

You're welcome! It was like laying out a challenge - WTH *is* a transfer??? Had to figure it out... But I hope that's all I have to touch WO today - that was enough to carry me through the weekend I think!

Dang, I hate it when Therese beats me to the punch...you guys are just up and at it too early. But that's when it gets updated, when completion is made for another WO.

You know, I really like this scenario - you do all the work, and I get to sound more intelligent with my next customer :) Now - what does Inventory procuremnent type ""subcontract"" do? And what does PO Status ""change"" do? And what MAS report uses the Buyer / Planner code? And what is the Common item ""low level code"" do? Just in case you get bored...

@ClarkWalliser, ""subcontract"" really does nothing except related to BOMs and MRP. Normally MRP stops processing when it hits a Buy item - that is if there's a BOM, it ignores it. Subcontract on the other hand works as a Make and displays demand to components. But other than that, it's referential only.
