Does anyone know what security setting in Windows 2008 locks down creating services to only allow the local admin to do it? Got a Windows 2008 SBS box that I cannot actually get the service to be created on as a domain admin, but since it is domain controller there is no local admin.

Duh! Right click and select ""Run as Administrator"". Just feels ridiculous to have to do that when I am already logged in as an admin.

If your talking about adding and seeing MAS200 startup in windows services. You need to run the start the services with elevated privileges ( right click run as administrator) to properly see it .

@philmcintosh . This is all related to the new UAC protocol. The idea is that you can set the ability to install programs as a group policy instead of having making the user an admin on the machine. It also helps with malware installations.
