Does anyone know the specifics of what happens to the launcher menu's when the system data is migrated from a previous version? Is the previous version menu system simply copied over... seems dangerous at best, or only those items that have been customized perhaps like custom reports and MD menu mods merged into new version menu system? Some other scenario?

I would like to know the answer to this also. I have been using sy_menu_ui to hide the unwanted programs. There should be a better solution. Also, when the LM Installed Modules Listing is printed there can be old, non-migrated programs listed. After several years the menus and module listing reports can become a mess.

Some follow up... This migration is going from 4.30 to 2016 (5.30). I dumped the SY_Menu.m4t data file from 4.30 with all its custom reports, MD menu mods and the like to Excel. Did the same for 5.30 clean fresh install, and finally for 5.30 immediately post system file migration. After comparing these with each other, I am confident that the migration, at least for menus, is more of merge than anything else. Interestingly, the custom crystal reports added in 4.30 did not migrate on the menu side of things. If I fire up Report Manager post migration in 5.30 all of the custom reports seem to exist. I was even able to edit one of the reports from Report Manager and save it in the latest Crystal format, but was unable to get it to appear on the menu. In short, the migration process brings over menu items for MD mods... things I will need to re-install anyway and would presumably get new menu entries... and does not migrate Custom Report menu entries, although it does bring the reports and its internal Report Manager definition for which there seems to be no way to recreate the menu entry. Has anyone else witnessed this behavior? Do I have it wrong somewhere? And, finally, how do I best restore my custom report menu items? All thoughts and discussion welcome...

Hmmm ... additional diggins seems to indicate this is only for legacy modules... I/M in particular...

Correct - anything that was already framework would bring over the custom reports.
