Does anyone know if you can run Aatrix and the ACA forms 1094 and 1095 after a payroll year is closed? We have clients that are not prepared to file (escpecially now with the extension) and haven't finished entering employee ACA data, but afraid that if they enter the employee info in the backup company and run the forms from there that they'll need to re-key everything into the live company. Is there a way to move the data from the backup company to the live company, i.e. specific ACA tables?

Not really sure, but based on this post, it appears that the ACA numbers are year driven a la 1099 reporting. https://90minds-com.socialcast.com/messages/28796278?ref=stream

I did ACA filing with a client earlier today and then ran period end. I just had her go into the live company and she can still see 2015 data as long as her system date is in 2015 so it should be ok.

Thanks @MaryJoKrueger However, some clients need to perform period end **before** they print the forms. Can they go back and print 2015 even if P/R is now in Q1 2016? Do they only need to set the **system** date back?

Since Aatrix allows you to file 2015 W-2's after the year is closed, one would assume that ACA forms would work the same way. Since this could be a faulty assumption, we still always recommend that PR files are copied to a backup company BEFORE the year is closed. If you run ACA forms from the backup company, this does mean that ACA data may only be in the backup company code. ACA data is kept by year and the files use the new Sage structure (see attached) so you could possibly copy them into the main company code. This would need to be tested. Other options for getting ACA data from a backup company into the main company include 1) use VI to export and import 2) use our ACA Data Assist tool that can import data into any company code. Since ACA data is kept by year, you may never need to copy back to the main company code if ACA forms are processed from a backup of PR.
