Does anyone know if True Commerce (the Transaction Manager portion of it I guess) uses the BOI (Business Object Interface) as the technique for creating EDI sales orders in Sage 100?

Yes, Although I haven't used it. My understanding was that the new version did use BOI. The legacy version used VI.

Alnoor. There are 2 products... using the old VI or buying the BO inteface. I have 2 companies using the TC BOI and it works great. The client I just converted form 4.4 advanced to 5.1 premium is using the old VI with UDFs...although they will probably change to the BOI soon.

Thank you guys!! I'm working on another TC issue for the same 4.50 SQL client I mentioned in your other thread Doug. They have now moved fwd with TC implementation setup but no EDI yet because client just sent me urgent email to me on Friday they are getting nowhere for weeks with TC because of some J/C error occurring during EDI order creation, and obviously there is no J/C in the SQL version. Client asked me to conference up with HighJump to help them resolve the issue which I'm doing on Tuesday. But now I understand what must be go on. I see client has Avalara AvaTax installed and this is the same BOI issue I ran into a couple of times myself and helped @SteveIwanowski with once too. They just have to copy the \AvaTax folder on the machine with their Transaction Mgr app and register the AvaTax DLL. HighJump I guess from what you guys say their product is really good once it's all up and going but their customer service based on this story and from the last issue I mentioned in your other thread Doug, in both cases leaves something to be desired. They won't be getting a high net promoter score as an Endorsed Partner from me.

I have run into that a few times with TC. During the demos they say they handle everything but in reality the Sage partner spends a significant amount of time managing and working on the implementation. if you don;t know who to call at TC then try contacting Billy Ray Falce. He is a guy that will get it done and make a push from the top. On a positive note the BOI product is really nice once implemented.

Here is the latest. Last night per the client's request I crafted a friendly but technical email for Highjump's consumption to explain why their BOI order creation is failing and in the end one has to simply go through the steps of registering the AvaTax DLL on the local workstation since that's where their Trans Mgr is executing from. Then instead of helping the client do that, and after all they should since they sat on the issue for 2 months, they said to them it's not our problem you have to fix it. So client called me again and I remoted in just now and fixed in 15 minutes. Truly the True Commerce folks are a bunch of arrogant dolts held to no standards of accountability.

High Jump is the Sage of add-on products. Acquire old technology which used to be leading edge and milk it for what it is worth.
