    Does anyone know how Sage notifies users of their upcoming renewal and how far in advance? I am assuming it is an email, does it have an invoice attached? Have an end user asking. Thanks.

    Customer looks at credit card statement and notices charge from Sage. aka Not well. If at all.

    Was talking to a user yesterday about this. Was hoping to have them hold off renewing until we processed the ROR. He said ""no problem"" 10 days ago. Yesterday, he said he was very sorry but he had just checked his bank account and Sage and taken the money. No heads up, no email, no invoice, no nothing. Yep, Sage is on top of their customer service game....

    The promise (hope?) is that this will soon be available within the product. Whether that ever happens or whether it happens and provides enough information is anyone's guess.

    Isn't it automatic renewal as defined in the paperwork? Makes sense if you are on monthly payments. Big surprise paying annually.

    I believe the customer should be getting an order confirmation. I had a customer send me what he got for his Monthly Subscription renewal. I would assume it would be the same process for Annual renewal for the subscription. Perpetual may be different. I believe they get three months before renewal, contact from sage about renewing. Then each month they get reminders and the week of the expiration they get reminders. At least this is how it has been with me and my Sage Rep that handle renewals. One thing to check is that the email address for the order confirmation is correct. I would say 35% or more of my customers contacts/emails are wrong on Sage's website. Typically when I see users not getting contacted it is due to a bad email address or wrong person that it is going to.

    In my experience, they seem like they're going to do it more than a full month in advance and then the renewal date approaches and I say ""hey, did you ever send a renewal notice to so and so?"" No. And they send it. This is several full days a month for me. Checking that sage has done their job. #NotThatImBitter

    In case anyone is wondering, subscriptions DO expire and turn the software into a read only CF. Doing a final v2018 migration tonight, getting the expired subscription message now and everything is read only....

    Good point @ToddMartin, I had a client just yesterday have their FAS Account expired because all the emails on their account were long gone employees. You and me @RhondaMcNamara.

    @JeffSchwenk so you had a subscription expire yet you were able to 'see' data? I have a customer who wants to cancel their subscription (purchased by another company) but they want to be able to view past customer history in particular. Any advice?

    Ummm, cross your fingers? They ""should"" be fine in read only mode. I am not sure if you can extract data via ODBC into Excel.

    My experience on PAYROLL expiration in 2018.x (I think this might have been added in a PU) was that suddenly an expired user could view only all the payroll screens. YMMV. About a year or two ago I had a customer drop payroll maintenance and I was still able to ODBC out of Payroll and use VI to import to Payroll (to change rates). I cannot say whether that has changed since then with a later update.
