Does anyone know anything about drafting bylaws?

We should get a draft together and review as the admin group at MOTM to present to the membership to vote on after MOTM.

Part of that should be how to treat Multi office firms, how the participation requirement should work for 90 Minds membership and when should a 90 Minds member be demoted to OASIS, how do we nominate and elect officers.

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

We could focus more on the pricing and let people self-qualify. I think we are pricing fairly now. Perhaps there should be less of a distinction of 90 Minds v OASIS (it's really hard to explain) and more of a focus on having a management structure. We could require that all members send x person to MOTM. If they don't go they still pay (ITA does this). I am very concerned that our collaboration stays high quality. Equally concerned that as a small organization we don't come up with so many rules and qualifications that we make the management a full time job. There's also other expansion options we've never touched upon -- for example do we allow vendors to join? ITA does and they pop them around $8,000 every year for the privilege. Should we sell advertising? Sponsor webinars? I'm not advocating for any of these just mentioning that future expansion might encompass those concepts. We should not be so restrictive in bylaws that we have to keep coming back for revisions. The higher level that we keep the bylaws the better.

What should we do about demoting folks who are 90 Minds and have to ask for their password on the rare occasion that they log in?

Wouldn't it be a lot easier to just standardize everyone - yes do away with the distinction of 90 Minds vs OASIS. Perhaps part of that is to level the fees - make the 90 Minds $$ the same across the board. I'm just thinking out loud but managing two classes of citizens seems like too much work and are we really delivering a materially higher experience for 90 Minders? You could potentially have membership groups/sections if you are worried about casual users having access to more sensitive information like marketing tactics or Evernote or Drop Box (or whatever shared resources we decide upon). Maybe the whole ""Shared Support"" (which I think is still a great idea) also evolves and champions some of the shared resource sharing. If we were to require attendance at a MOTM like event each year -- would that take the lurkers out of the equation? These are only suggestions with the ultimate goal to streamline this process and not make it any more resource intensive.

We should try to schedule a couple hangouts to talk about these potential issues or we may spend all day on-site in San Diego and not go anywhere.

To @WayneSchulz's points ... I brought up the distinction levels (or lack thereof) previously a few times before. Originally one of the differentiators was that 90 Minds was the ""trusted circle"". These are people that we've gotten to know and feel comfortable that we can say something without worrying about it getting out to anyone else (Sage, customers, prospects, competitors, whoever). That alone might make it beneficial to keep the two tiers. Maybe not. I see the paths as: 1. Do we flatten the hierarchy and have only one tier for the group? What are the ramifications? Will the trusted circle be gone for good? - or - 2. What do we do to differentiate the different tiers? What level of services or benefits does someone get as part of 90 Minds vs OASIS?

Let's setup a hangout for this or we could have a 1,500 message Socialcast thread. Either Thursday or Sunday at 8pm ET works for me.

If nobody contributes to this - don't cry when issues come up that are difficult to resolve. This is exactly how the request for some rules went last year <crickets chirping>

I can't really do it tonight and Sunday probably won't work either. I'll try to throw out a couple of dates for next week to try to get together.

I think we should draft something quickly - if you create a Google Doc I'll help edit it. Otherwise we may not make progress.
