Does anyone know about Sage ERP Shipping by Smarlinc? I searched the 90 minds site and saw a posting similar to this from back in May with no responses. So I thought I'd start a new thread. I went to the website below and it appears all the links are broken. I have a client asking if this is would be a good tool for them, and I know very little about the product. http://go.sageerpsolutions.com/content/Q312_Sage100_300_500_SmartLinc

We only use Starship... Smartlinc always seemed too expensive....

I agree with Jim, we only recommend Starship and have had great success with the product.

My company feels the same way -- Smartlinc priced themselves out of the Sage 100 market. We sold a few before they were acquired by EFI. For a multi-carrier solution with the LTL integration, the price is rather competitive. I haven't had experience with them since they were acquired though.

Same as above. I sat through a demo with a customer who was an existing Starship user. The features looked great but ultimately the price was way out of line. Sage did not offer any type of competitive upgrade from Starship. As I recall the quote was something like $18,000 but Smartlinc came down to around $5,000 as their quarter/year-end rolled up. The customer didn't take the offer mainly because they did not have enough pain to switch away from Starship. The only real complaint I have about Starship is that they tend to require that all support goes through them as there's no real KB to refer to. In most cases I've found it far more effective to tell the customer to purchase a few cases from V-Technology and then we call with any Starship related issues.

They haven't updated their website since they were aquired (still list Tom Bitner as Channel Partner). I tried sending a request to the sales@ email box and it was returned as undeliverable. Not sure who is running the ship over there -you would be better with Starship. This is who i worked with recently. We're about to perform our first implementation of SmartLinc for a Sage 2014 Advanced client. They needed LTL, so we had to get the Platinum version, which is comically expensive ($7500 plus a bunch of other random charges for location, shipping providers, etc). The product itself is pretty slick, demos well, and to me, looks much easier to use and maintain than StarShip. After seeing everyone else's posts, I can let you know how things go.... http://demotivators.despair.com/demotivational/mistakesdemotivator.jpg

I believe I saw that Smartlinc is currently on the Inspire tour. I am pretty sure I saw their name somewhere (recently) as an endorsed solution with Sage.
