My client was ""sold"" a package deal where this company X wrote a web page for their online ordering and it was supposed to ""automatically hook up"" to Sage. The client never told me this until it was already purchased (Thanks!) Then the company X who sold my client this package said that they needed to know what I was using to hook up to them? I believe that's what they sold to my client was the ""total package"" and now expect me to supply them with the avenue. (Again I don't mind but would have liked to know this in advance.) They discussed using either eBusiness Web Services (which is what they are currently ""using with another client"") or SData. They told me that eBusiness Web Services was no longer available? I asked them what level of Sage is ""their other client on"" and they just told me an older level...unfortunately I have not used eBusiness Web Services so I contacted Sage and was told that eBusiness Web Services is not being discontinued nor is SData however they had no immediate plans for future development at this time for either. With SData, there are conflicts with the most current version and the only other option was Sage Mobile Solutions which didn't give them quite enough of the features they are getting with their online ordering. So I ordered per the client's request the eBusiness Web Services and just received the keys to install and set it up. I need help with that part.

Web services is really a 1.0 version product. It never really worked that good in my opinion. SData is much better and is the product I believe Sage will be continuing development with since it is a Standard they have to communicate between their own products. Depending on what you wanted to do, something link http://sage100.websitepipeline.com/synctool/ might have been a better option. Although it probably cost much more. We created our own web services that is programmed specifically to what our customer wants and it simplifies what the web programmer needs to know and do. Most part, they post us a request and we respond with an xml result. We do all the heavy lifting. It isn't an out of the box solution.

The client knows it and they are very frustrated with this company for selling them something they knew nothing about. I have correspondence with the client and this other company that states very clearly what I'm willing to do however I am not responsible for the ""hookup"" only installing the eBusiness Web Services as I didn't trust them to touch it.

I was told by Sage ""Johnny Woodward"" that the most current level of SData doesn't work with the most current level of Sage. He said for both SData and eBusiness that there were no plans for future development for either at this time but they are not getting discontinued...he recommended eBusiness so it's paid for. Should we talk privately Todd? If you get time would you please call me at 231-632-0860 if you could help and if not I understand. Thank you!
