Does anyone have clients using a shipping solution that does extensive rate shopping? @LouisAraiza ? Met with an existing user who was all gung ho to rate shop. They're using Starship which I thought did allow for rate shopping (and I think it does but perhaps not to the level these guys want). According to this customer they asked their VAR for some ""references"" of people using rate shopping in their freight program and the VAR was unable or unwilling to come up with some. So far as I know the major competitors to Starship: - ISM = Shipping Link - Sage = TBD - Freight Plus (Did @MarkKotyla look at this?) #shipping

I looked at Freight Plus years ago, and thought the integration was weak. Will review again shortly, as I believe the integration is a bit more polished. However, I don't recall the rate shop features. At that time, my main concern was integration. The one thing Starship had going for it was established integration with MAS. Since that's being phased out, their BOI integration (and workflow) is similar to competitors. I recently had an exchange with them regarding software maintenance renewals. I never got notice and client renewed on their own, using the convenient ""Click Here to Renew"" link V-Tech provided in the e-mail to client. When I asked about margin for the renewal, V-Tech stated that it's only given if reseller processes the renewal (hard to do when they don't notify you). Sales says ""this customer has been using Starship for a long time and we're sure they would have renewed anyway."" Just as well... I'm growing tired of the complaints about how slow Starship has become. Will be presenting options as contracts expire.

We do not rate shop. Some of our shipping is done on the clients account with either UPS or Fedex. Most of our shipping is small boxes so it is either FedEx or UPS.

@WayneSchulz What would a wiki provide that search doesn't?

@MarkChinsky A thought on a wiki is you'd probably think more about how you phrased something to make it more searchable. Plus you could edit the info instead of just adding to it. In theory, you'd search through less chaff to get to the good stuff. You could organize it better.
