We are certified to sell it (someone took a test) and have the reseller copy. The plan was to sell it to those customers that have very complex reporting structures where we built the FRx reports. We haven't sold any yet (it's been over a year), and I imagine there are two reasons for that: 1. The pricing is high. 2. The person who is primarily sells things is not totally sold on it. (That's me.) We also realized the expanded benefits of Sage BI, so have done more of that. Also sold F9 for the new clients that only want custom financials. It's probably easier to justify the sale for an installed FRx customer, since there is an investment in those reports. For a new customer, I can't see selling it compared to the other options available.

As a follow up on opinions of the product: it works just like FRx, but with some tweaks to improve on the functionality and it isn't as difficult to install. There really is no retraining of users. There is a conversion utility from FRx files, but you have to send them to Renovo to convert.

Can you elaborate on what you didn't like about this --- I can understand if the customer is looking for more BI and spreadsheet --- however for an FRX lover who just wants to keep using FRX -- any red flags except cost? Why are you not totally sold on it?

For an FRx lover that is very attached to FRx, it is an ideal solution. It is a SQL database, so we know it is robust enough to handle large volumes. As I said, the clients we targeted for this were the ones that had multiple entities and complex departmental and location structures with large reporting packages. Cost is somewhat high, but it seems that any client that has the need based on complexity should not have an issue with that, since they don't have to re-create the reports or learn something new. When we first signed on with them, there were some delays on the conversion capability, the specific training and certification, and some other features they were working on, so I think we lost some momentum, and have not really picked up again with it. I also have seen that our consultants started taking the BI classes and there was some demand from clients that wanted to use that, so they were occupied with those efforts. They will convert files - 1-2 day turnaround, 95% converts - at a consulting fee. Resellers do not get a utility for this. Again, I would consider it for those clients that have an investment in their FRx reporting package. For simple structures and only the basics done in FRx, there are more economical ways to do financial statements (we have a large user base for F9). Licensing (all named users): Administrators - Full Access Publishers - Run Reports Viewers - View Already Run Reports Standard edition (includes 2 named administrators): $4,500. Connect (GL integration): $500 Report Processing Server: $3,500 - 1st, $2,000 - additional Additional Administrators (named): $1,595 Publishers (named): $495 Viewers (named): $295 Annual Maintenance:20% There are also bundled editions: Professional ($9,500 - 2A, 3P, 5V, 1 server) Enterprise ($32,000 - 8A, 10P, 20V, 4 servers)
