Does anyone have any experience setting up and/or

Does anyone have any experience setting up and/or using Sage Intelligence in a Terminal Server environment? I have a client that uses SI from an AppEazy server and we needed to set up a special workstation environment to make SI work properly. SI attaches its license to the workstation ID so I'm not sure how that is affected with Windows RDP.

AppEazy creates a new session every time users log in, making assignment of licenses difficult. I'd first try installing it on the workstation temple, which should retain license info within the new session (similar to how you might install Excel). If it doesn't, think about switching AppEazy to ""training mode"", where session settings are retained so each user effectively resumes sessions rather than starting new ones.

Thanks, Mark. We have it running well in AppEazy on one client. We created a special workstation ID and when they want to use SI they log into that particular client. My question above is more more general Terminal Server setup. I have a client with MAS 200 20 users and almost all log in via RDP. Before I start chasing my tail with SI installs I was wondering if anyone had experience with the whole license/workstation ID issue and if so how did they resolve it.

@markkotyla has the right idea. I recommend talking to AppEasy. They should be able to hardcoded one of the workstation session to the same id always.

@ChuckPeddy: We have a client that uses Sage Intelligence on Terminal Server. @EricAnderson works with them more than I do. Check with him.

outside of the appeazy world, just straight terminal server install, it appears to license by the server, not the user/session, which makes things easy.

Thanks @EricAnderson. I'll do some testing before recommending a final solution to my customer but that is at least good to hear and should make things easier.

Clarifying a bit for Chuck, this is all about straight TS. Fundamentally, we want to install SI on the TS, but are concerned about Excel interaction. Customer does not want to buy 40 Excel licenses for the TS. Does this trigger any caveats?

for excel I'm assuming you'll need as many licenses as excel users

Sorry, I wasn't clear. Excel users already have Excel on their desktop, from which they open the TS session for MAS & SI. Let me rephrase. 1) There is no requirement for Excel at all in order to use SI? 2) If they want to interact SI with Excel, then TS is probably not the cheapest way to achieve this? Thanks for your patience.

you need excel for SI - so I would go with answer 2

Thanks, Eric. We thought so, but couldn't quite get to that answer with full confidence.
