Does anyone have any customers using the Sage direct deposit service in 5.30? I have a customer that wants to move to it to avoid Kissinger DD but don't want to make her the guinea pig. Thanks

I had a customer ask about it today. We are about to load PU4 and get it setup. I was wondering the same thing....

Same here. Because of the low cost, I have just had the client renew their Kissinger for this year. I am not sure Sage has a deliverable (much less a bug free deliverable) as of today.

I believe the DD in 5.30 is the standard Sage module that will create the NACHA file for you just like Kissinger. Signing up for the service that automatically takes the file and sends it to the bank is a separate setup.

Bernie - you are correct (although I'm not sure the DD is standard functionality, I think they have to buy the DD module). The service to send it to the bank I believe is now free and I'm looking for feedback on whether the Sage Service is consistently 'up'. First review I ever saw on this service was that Sage DD Service was down for 3+ days. Can't have my customers sending a payroll file that won't get processed for 3 days.

Nancy- OK, sorry I misunderstood that. I can tell you the Sage DD is included with the payroll subscription but does have to be installed. We have switched a couple of clients from Kissinger but both times it was done as part of an upgrade so the DD module installed with the new keys. We don't have anyone using the service from Sage and haven't pushed it. I'm glad we didn't after seeing your post about it being down for three days.....

Like @BernieLehman I have a client on SAGE 100 STD v2014 and they did not own Kissinger or the Sage DD module. They signed up for Payroll Tier Subscription and with the new keys they were able to install the DD module. They now upload the DD NACHA file via their on-line banking system. My question for SAGE is how many days in advance do they require the DD NACHA file and the withdrawal of the funds, before the funds are distributed to the employee's bank and/or credit union account. It use to be somewhat of a bank standard of three days in advance.

Michael - so my customer could get rid of the Kissinger product, then create the Nacha File in Sage but upload to their own bank rather than the Sage Service? That would be ok in my mind.

Yes, as long as you have the SAGE DD module installed. I was told by SAGE that they no longer sell the DD module. The only way to get DD module is via the **Payroll Tier Subscription.** Of course, SAGE is pushing the DD Service, but you can still set it up to handle the DD NACHA file the ""old fashion way"".

You'll probably get better service by uploading directly to your own bank. Local or community banks frequently go the extra mile in helping their commercial customers.

I called Sage trying to get some specifics on this today. The clients I am ready to move make very grumpy guinea pigs, so I don't want surprises. Here's what I think I've gleaned about Sage Direct Deposit Service. This is the same DD service that Sage 50 offers for a fee. It's 'included' with the Payroll Subscription for Sage 100, but there are transnational fees. They're just less than the bank would charge. They all go in the same NACHA format. It sounds like they go through Sage's bank, then to the customer bank. There is no testing with the bank. If you want to test, the pre-note is considered the test. From documentation, I see you apply, get approved, then go live with it. here is said documentation, and the hyperlink goes to the[ Getting Started Guide PDF](https://cdn.na.sage.com/docs/en/customer/100erp/2016/open/Sage100_DirectDeposit_GettingStartedGuide.pdf). Sage 100 Direct Deposit ""Service"": Sage 100 Direct Deposit Services feature is only available in Sage 100 versions 2015 PU4+ and 2016 and higher. Currently, this service is free, with the exception of ancillary fees, for example return items, NSF & Reversal fees. You must FIRST apply and submit an application to use this service for EACH Sage 100 company code you want to setup to use this direct deposit service. You generate your Payroll direct deposit ACH file from within Sage 100, which is then synchronized and transmitted to Sage Payroll who will submit your Payroll ACH file to your bank for you. This will eliminate the need to set up payroll direct deposit interface file to be formatted correctly for your banks ACH layout requirements and you will not need to manually upload your ACH file to your bank or manually key in direct deposit entries on your bank's website. Which will ultimately save you time by simplifying and reducing your payroll processing time. See related article below, How to setup Direct Deposit Service in Sage 100. IMPORTANT NOTE: You must have a current Payroll Subscription Plan and have Sage 100 2015 PU 4 or PU 5 or Sage 100 2016 or higher installed for this feature to be enabled. STEP #1: You must apply for Sage Direct Deposit Services. (Note: If you process payroll for more than one company you must apply for each applicable Sage 100 company you want setup to use Direct Deposit Services for) To apply for Sage 100 Direct Deposit Services, do the following: 1.Open Payroll, Setup, Payroll Options 2.On the Direct Deposit tab 3.Click the application link 4.Fill out all required information on the application 5.Click Print button before submitting application (to keep for your records) 6.Click Submit button to submit your application Note: If you have any questions regarding the application process please call 866-237-4489 or email Sage Direct Deposit Services support team at treasury@sage.com STEP #2: After being approved and activating your Sage ID to link with your Direct Deposit Service and entering your new Sage 100 product keys, do the following in Sage 100: 1.Open Payroll, Setup, Payroll Options 2.On the Direct Deposit tab, select the following: oSelect the Require Direct Deposit checkbox oIn the Direct Deposit Interface field select Sage 100 Direct Deposit Service 3.Click Accept STEP #3: Click here to access the Getting Started Guide, for step by step details on setting up, processing payroll and synching using Sage 100 Direct Deposit service TIP: If you would like to watch a video on setting up Sage 100 direct deposit service, please log in to Sage U at www.SageU.com and search for Sage 100 - Introduction to Sage Direct Deposit Service

@RhondaMcNamara - a year a go or so, there was a thread about the PR DD Services being down for 3 days. I wouldn't want to be the payroll person who has to tell the employees their checks didn't get deposited. It probably could happen with a regular bank DD Services but probably less of a chance. At what point would Sage tell everyone that 'Oops - DD's won't happen this week, please cut manual checks to your employees'. That would be my concern on using this service. Not reliable enough yet in my book.

I saw that. That is a totally unacceptable length of time for them to be down. But if this is the same DD service they have offered through Sage 50, it's been around for years.

I wonder have many days in advance of the availability of the employee's deposited funds that SAGE will require the NACHA file. Several local banks will allow the NACHA file to be sent to the bank the day before ""pay day"".
