    Does anyone have an idea of when user in Sage CRM uses up a Sage 100 license? I've talked to support and they gave me two answers rather than telling me they don't know..... I am logged into CRM, click on the Company Inquiry Tab, and get a message saying ""User Count is Exceeded"":from Sage 100.

    On v2013 and above it isn't supposed too except when it starts up and it is supposed to release it immediately.

    The client is on Version 2013. I too was told that a MAS license was only grabbed for a few seconds when CRM brings up MAS. Anyone have anything written from Sage? I don't think our client's installation is behaving the way it should.

    Nothing written, but I've been informed the same thing Jim has stated above. Sage 100 will 'temporarily' pull a license to open Sales Order for example, then release that license, SO screen can still be opened in this example.

    Thanks for the update John. f we are all correct, the flaw in their design is that it appears when all the licenses for MAS are used up, then a CRM user gets the User Count Exceeded error message and cannot create an order. I'll enjoy explaining this to the user.....

    Yes that is the problem, Leonard. It temporarily grabs it but it needs something to grab.

    I also had a conversation with Steffen Urban in Sage 100 support. He confirmed that a MAS license is only attached temporarily when CRM calls a Sage 100 function. He also confirmed that if all the MAS seats are being used, then CRM cannot call a Sage 100 function and you will get the ""user count exceeded"" message. Sage 100 (MAS 90) gets one extra license when you install CRM that, as I understand it is reserved for the integration engine. Sage 100 (MAS 200) gets two extra licenses when you install CRM. One for the integration engine and the other for the Application Server.
