Does anyone have a suggestion for an existing scheduling system for a distributor that projects QOH by period (down to week) based on historical sales plus outstanding purchase orders and sales orders? I know Inventory Advisor is coming, but I would like to see recommendations for something proven in the real world with good service/support/customization. I've customized solutions in the past with MS Access and Excel, but I'm thinking there have got to be solutions more cost effective than I can customize from scratch.

Not sure if it applies, but does JobOps Purchase Agent do this? http://www.jobops.com/purchaseagent/literature/purchaseagent.pdf

Sage is already selling Inventory Advisor direct, so if your customer is interested you can probably get them started now.

Look at Purchase Agent first, because this is exactly what it does. It is also a relatively inexpensive investment compared to the functionality.

I echo John, Purchase Agent might be just what they need. Synergistic released th Component Exception Manager component of JobOps as a standalone module. So not only has it been proven inside JO, but now as a standalone. Let John or me know if you need more info.

Since I don't sell and have not done a lot with MFG, I always (incorrectly) thought JobOps was for MFG. I'll check this out. Thanks for the suggestions.

Hi @DanBurleson it was released as a standalone module so does not require JobOps and is not just for manufacturing. It's a good solution for Distribution environments. It's a cool tool. :)

We usually recommend Valogix. It's not inexpensive, but it's a terrific solution for material planning, forecasting, and PO generation. http://www.valogix.com Ask for Tom Glacken (t.glacken@valogix.com)
