I'd try what Carmen said, and once you run the workstation setup on v2021 I'd expect 2017 printing to break and I would DL the pvxwin.exe.config from 86964 and apply it to 2017 to get the printing running again. As I'm sure you are aware, once you apply the pvxwin.exe.config to 2017 you'll likely need to apply it to all the 2017 clients  (if Advanced ) or you'll start taking calls about 2017 not printing.

To print from v2021 in MAS90 mode (from a folder copy) you'd have to run the v2021 workstation setup against the Live install, not the copy (which doesn't have the service running).  That should get the Common Components installed, needed to run v2021... while breaking printing for that machine's v2017 (which has been mentioned before).

This machine is running Windows server 2012 R2.  Wksetup (pointing to live environment) fails during prerequisite install.  The last message I see before failure is that it's installing Edge Webviewer.  MS Edge is not installed - is it required for v2021?

Yes, MS Edge is required for the new Launcher.  Sage changed the default to Edge, with IE as a right-click option.
