  • 1.  Does anyone have a compiled list by ISV of which ones are sensitive to PU?

    Has anyone created a list of 3rd party integrations showing which ones are: 

    - Sensitive to PU -- i.e., do you need to reinstall after a PU?
    - Removable ( and how )
    - Support contacts
    - Links/instructions to get the latest versions ( other than calling into the ISV )

    If such as list exists - or has been started - I'd like to help keep it going as I'm presently going through an upgrade with several enhancements and also just got a call from a customer who is potentially moving from one WMS to another (and needs to remove the prior WMS ).

    I am under the impression that you always have to reinstall enhancements after a PU (and after checking with the developer to ensure their programming is compatible with the new PU).
    If you are replacing ScanCo MB with ScanForce / DSD MB, we did that once and ScanForce helped (hands-on) with the transition... but that was just Multi-Bin, not full WMS.

    Thanks on both counts. Yes, that was my impression that you always have to reinstall enhancements. However, SPS is doing an EDI for a customer, and I just asked, and they said nope - only with a full version update. Whether that's going to be the case ( or the implementation consultant was winging the answer ), I will find out shortly... it'd be cool to have a chart shorting this type of info.

    I think it depends on "how" the enhancement is installed. 
    • Any big ones (module in the menu), 100% reinstall. 
      • Example: DSD multi-currency replaces many report files, which could be overwritten by a Sage PU, so you always have to reinstall.
    • If the enhancement is done through Links and Class Enhancements, it might be OK... as long as the affected programming wasn't significantly changed by Sage.
      • Think back to when Sage added multi-SO per invoice, with a PU.  That change would have broken almost every invoice related enhancement.
    • I've seen "integrations" done through button scripts and VI, which didn't need to be reinstalled (even with an upgrade).
    It's always best to check, every time.
