Does anybody know why the latest version of the Scanco wireless solution would require Bar-Code master?

Sage mandates that they do. It's the same reason that Scan Force requires it.

If they use this to interface the transactions, does that mean somebody has to go to the module periodic and 'import' the data or is it some type of api that the handheld software uses to update in the background?

I believe it's all background because no one touches the barcode module itself.

dawn is correct. BarCode required with ScanForce, but no one touches it. Might be worth asking Steve Showalter if it is ""software toll"" or if it is really used by Scanforce. We used to use BarCode when we had to import serial/lot as it has that part built in.

They upload the transactions through Bar Code, but they really don't need to. It's just a software toll Sage put on them. From what Steve Showalter had told me last year, Scan Force was supposedly originally developed without using Bar Code and Sage required them to go through Bar Code.
